- Oxford dictionary is probably the best one in terms of definitions of words, it conveys the meaning in simple and clear language. But unfortunately, the app torments you with ads and charges a whopping $20 for the premium version to disable ads, enable audio pronunciations and offline dictionary. During offer periods the price comes down to $10, but that’s still too high. Ironically, the browser version of Oxford dictionary, which you can access on your phone, tablet or computer, provides audio pronunciations for free! So why pay for this app!
- The main problem with this app is that audio quality is awful. It’s unbelievable that in this day and age someone offers such low quality recordings in the paid version, when each free dictionary app and website has good quality recordings of words, phrases, and even sentences. It’s not the 1990s for God’s sake! If I’d known how horrible the audio is, I would never have paid for the app.
- On short acquaintance I like it. Obviously not keen on ads and in app purchases. Prefer a compromise between the concise Oxford dictionary and this one – too much detail for my needs. Collins English is more suitable since it gives the main meanings and is more concise.
- I bought the dictionary.Generally it works very well,but the function of “favorite” messed up. I saved many terms into different folders,and those words are just gone! It is just a very easy function…how could the programmer makes the mistake?
