I gave it a higher review than I otherwise would because I can’t complain about the project of library material access—I use the app all the time. But the development needs some serious work. There are no chapters in audiobooks, which wouldn’t be a big deal except the place-saving feature is buggy. bu “resume book” button is placed right below the “tap to delete” button which does not prompt for a confirmation which is just bad UI design. Honestly I’d give it a 2 star but still recommend because its the only game in town.
I listen to 10 audiobooks for free every month using Hoopla. It has an amazing book selection. I’d give it a 10/5 if possible. I also pair this app with audible for 1 new book a month and the app Libby for 5-10 more books each month. This allows me to listen to at least 16 books a month for $15, the cost of the audible membership. Absolutely love this app.
A new feature I love about hoopla is when you’re listening to book in a series it’ll prompt you for the next book in order. The other apps haven’t done that and I’ve had to search through the web to find the next one. Now it’s a snap, the new one’s ready to go the instant I finished the last one.
